US-Mexico Border Security Application. Client: US-DHS (2007-2008)

 

For hands-on design to provide technical leadership in operations, security, and integration for an international network between the US and Mexico for border security.

 

Planned and designed after identifying system requirements for operations and security along the US-Mexican Border. Worked with other engineers and multiple federal agency participants to develop designs, integrate components, leading into testing, deployment and implementation of bi-lateral government programs.

  • Managed development of a custom software application that targeted human smuggling along the US-Mexican border to improve security.
  • Led a team of in-house engineers and consultants with a hands-on approach for the development and testing of the new application using ColdFusion MX-8 and Oracle 10g.
  • Performed code walk-throughs, debugging and acceptance testing.

National Command and Control Center, Mexico. Client: US-DHS (2009 – 2012)

For Design and building of a national command control center located in Mexico

This facility coordinates and controls all activity for all agencies in Mexico for any type of emergency country wide. Gathered requirements from civil protection agencies over a year and helped design, pilot, deploy and implement the EOC for the Mexican government.

Managed multiple multi-phase projects concurrently, wrote proposals, helped in business development, managed complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), developed product and project documentation, developed training material, planned resources, coordinated tasks and scope of work with clients along with deliverables to stay on-track and avoid scope creep, managed vendors and sub-contractors.

  • Managed the $ 5M project that involved development of a crisis information management system.
  • Developed SOW, prepared technical proposal and cost estimate.
  • Gathered and analyzed requirements from multiple stakeholders, prepared specifications.
  • Performed business processes analysis.
  • Developed a Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and design for an archival system to store videos streams, web pages and documents pertaining to an incident.
  • Prepared test plan, did integration testing and acceptance testing.
  • Managed the deployment of hardware and software.

For Design and building of a national drug rehabilitation network for Mexico

This initiative will network 329 sites to have real time information on drug abuse by the Mexican public and to help kick the habit. Based on a portal design it involves the design and creation of a software package to allow all the needed functionality. The work involves surveying the current systems and infrastructure in place and then implementing the new system being designed.

For Design and building of a national kennel management system for Mexico

These facilities allow the management and training of all the dogs used for security purposes country wide.
